The Shaftesbury Hotel is unique.
Originally a town mansion house built for the famous Jute Baron ,
James Scott, in the eighteenth century.
Today it has been tastefully converted into a town house hotel,
and retains many of its fine Victorian features. The Shaftesbury
is situated in the quiet west end of Dundee. It is ideally located,
close to the vibrant city centre, the university, Ninewells hospital,
Dundee airport and the Riverside Technology Park .
The Shaftesbury hotel is a privately owned and managed hotel. The
staff at the Shaftesbury devote their time and energy to ensuring
every guest is treated as an individual.
A large period white marble fireplace dominates what was the original
Drawing Room and is now the Three Olives Restaurant.

The Morning room with its
distinguished black marble fireplace is now the Oriental Lounge,
incorporated in the Royal China Restaurant, enjoying a garden outlook.
The spacious bedrooms at the Shaftesbury are individually designed and combine
the perfect blend of original antiques and architectural features, with understated
elegance and every modern amenity. For our business guests we can combine the
peace and quiet you need to work effectively, with the services and facilities
you need to support you at work.
The Shaftesbury Hotel, together with its two quality restaurants
is ideally placed to host your business meetings or special occasions,
whether you are celebrating a birthday with a few friends, hosting
a family lunch or planning a romantic week-end break, whatever the
occasion may be you will find a warm welcome with professional service
and an attention to detail that you would only expect from a privately
owned hotel. |
